WATCH: Ole Miss football Friday practice highlights

Ole Miss football put on pads to wrap the first full week of fall camp practices.
The Rebels are dismissing Saturday so the coaches and players can attend a celebration of the life of Corey Adams, an Ole Miss defensive lineman tragically shot and killed in Memphis two weeks ago.
Rebel Grove was in attendance on Friday and compiled the included highlights. Among the position groups featured are the defensive line, wide receivers and quarterbacks.
Ole Miss is breaking in a new starter under center in Austin Simmons. Simmons replaces Jaxson Dart, who set records in his three-year starting career as a Rebel. Simmons received playing time for the first time in his career and completed 19 of 32 passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns in nine games.

“He looks like that dude,” LSU transfer Sage Ryan said. Ole Miss has positioned Ryan as the starting strong safety in its 4-2-5 defense. “The hype is real. It’s real. He’s making the right reads, he’s smart [and] knows how to look off the safety, for sure.
“He’s doing all the right things for us to be successful. Don’t get it twisted; every national championship team has a good quarterback. We’re learning on him and expecting him to do great things.”
