Kiffin in no rush to replace departed recruiting staffers Brown, Bolden

Lane Kiffin doesn’t have a timeline in finding replacements for off-field recruiting staffers Alex Brown and Kelvin Bolden.
Brown and Bolden last week left for the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and SEC rival LSU, respectively. Brown was Ole Miss’ director of player personnel. Bolden was the coordinator of recruiting strategy.
Brown will be an area scout for the Falcons. Bolden reunites with former Ole Miss general manager Austin Thomas as the Tigers’ senior associate A.D./assistant GM.
“We just try to find the best people,” Kiffin said Monday at SEC Media Days. “Unlike position coaches as far as an exact role — like your [defensive backs] coach and stuff — personnel and recruiting roles aren’t exact. Those are a lot more as you meet people and just finding people that fit. Not necessarily the exact skillset.”
Kiffin said Ole Miss has had no shortage of interest in the positions.
Sources indicate Alex Faulk, who previously served on Kiffin’s staff as coordinator of college personnel, has reached out. Faulk is currently at NC State as its director of recruiting.
Ole Miss is one of just six programs in college football to have signed Top 25 high school classes and Top 25 transfer classes in each of the last three recruiting cycles.
“I think that people want to work in our program and those guys moving on shows that people want to hire from our program,” Kiffin said. He’s entering his sixth season as Ole Miss head coach.
“So when that happens we get a lot of interest from people because they realize that it’s a program where a lot of people are getting hired off of them.”

Ole Miss last season won 10 games for the third in four years.
The Rebels open the 2025-26 campaign against Georgia State on August 30. The timing isn’t necessarily ideal, but Kiffin is in no hurry.
“It’s unique timing, but those guys did a good job for us,” Kiffin said. “Wishing them the best of luck, and we’ll just figure it out.”
On3 in February named both Brown and Bolden as two of college football’s ‘off-field recruiting stars’ of the 2025 cycle. Billy Glasscock took over for Thomas as Ole Miss GM.
“Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin brought in Billy Glasscock as his [NFL style] General Manager to oversee everything in the program from recruiting, scouting, NIL and coaching staff,” On3’s Steve Wiltfong wrote. “He’s an industry veteran that shined at Minnesota and Texas prior. Director of Player Personnel Alex Brown wears a lot of hats as well. Mike Williams runs the scouting department and has 15 years of NFL experience.
“Coordinator of Recruiting Strategy Kelvin Bolden is one of the SEC’s best relationship guys. The Rebels signed On3’s No. 19 class.”
