Ole Miss vs. Arkansas: Latest odds trend closer to the Razorbacks

No. 17 Ole Miss hosts Arkansas for its first Southeastern Conference home game of the 2025 season on Saturday. Coming off the win at Kentucky last week has the Rebels on schedule to start September.
When the experts in Las Vegas opened up the spread for this weekend’s game between the Rebels and Razorbacks it was in favor of the home team by nearly double figures. The opening line was set at -9.5 on BetMGM.
But the line saw sharp movement on Tuesday towards the direction of Arkansas. As of Tuesday evening the line had dropped to Ole Miss now being a 7-point favorite.
What could cause the major movement in a short period of time is not exactly known but an estimated guess would be the unknown health and status of Austin Simmons. The Ole Miss starting quarterback appeared to injury his left foot early in the game against the Wildcats and then aggravated it again later.
Simmons came out of the game only to re-enter for the final snap in victory formation of the Rebels 30-23 victory.

Rebel Grove’s Chuck Rounsaville reported it was a sprain but not serious enough to be considered a high-ankle sprain. Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin followed that up during his Sunday Zoom with local media by saying Simmons would be “fine.”
“He was able to go back in,” Kiffin said. “They taped it up and he was cleared to go back in. Knew the type of plays we were going to run at that point and went with Trinidad [Chambliss] because of that. I would expect [Simmons] will be fine.”
Ole Miss (2-0, 1-0 SEC) and Arkansas (2-0) are set for a 6 p.m. CT kickoff on ESPN this Saturday.
