Ole Miss vs. LSU: Live updates, scores, game highlights

FINAL: No. 13 OLE MISS 24, No. 4 LSU 19
Ole Miss 24, LSU 13 11:08 4th Qtr
Statement drive for Chambliss that ends with former LSU running back Logan Diggs to score on a six-yard run.
Chambliss showed poise that drive going through is progressions to find a wide open Lacy on his left. SEC play doesn’t scare him one bit.
END OF THE 3RD QUARTER: OLE MISS 17, LSU 13
Right before the end of the quarter Wright makes a great catch for a 26-yard gain.
Ole Miss 17, LSU 13 :58 3rd Qtr
The turnover results in three points instead of a game-tying touchdown as the Ole Miss defense continues to bend and not break. Ramos converted a 48-yard field goal try.
Chambliss makes his first big mistake. Instead of tucking it and running down the sideline he instead tried to force a deep throw which is tipped and then picked off by LSU. Tigers are back in Ole Miss territory down seven.
Ole Miss 17, LSU 10 6:02 3rd Qtr
The defense has done its job today. Outside of the 50-yard pass play in the first half there has not been many chunk plays allowed. Not allowed without the help of a penalty, at least.
Tigers are held to a 40-yard field goal attempt which is converted by Damien Ramos.
Will Echoles reminds us all what a sack looks like with a good play to get Nussmeier. LSU has to punt it away after getting behind the sticks. Massive stand by the defense to start the second half.
HALFTIME: OLE MISS 17, LSU 7
1st Half Stats

Ole Miss 17, LSU 7 :13 2nd Qtr
That was a beautiful drive by the Rebels with some creativity by Kiffin. Chambliss is in a rhythm and the LSU defense is looking gassed. Cayden Lee returned and made two big catches that drive, including the two-yard touchdown grab.
Ole Miss 10, LSU 7 5:09 1st Qtr
Five penalties that drive and four on LSU, which helps the Rebels get down the field. Kewan Lacy finishes it off with a 15-yard run to put Ole Miss in front for the first time today.
Add Antonio Kite and Princewill Umanmielen to the injured list as they get banged up on the same play.
Lee’s right arm was hurt on the hit and he is taken to the medical tent on the sideline.
Ole Miss had something going until a wide open Cayden Lee is hit hard and fumbles the ball inside the Tigers 10 yard-line. Whit Weeks recovered it in the endzone for a touchback. Killer turnover and the defense is going to be asked to stand up, yet again.
Chambliss is doing all he can but eventually him running it is going to get figured out by the LSU defense. Going to have to stay ahead of schedule today on offense.
A helpful facemask call for the drive is negated by a holding call on Luke Hasz stalls things and Rebels have to punt it away.
Wydett Williams, Jr. comes up with a big takeaway as he picks off Nussmeier. Ole Miss offense back in business deep in their territory.
END OF THE 1ST QUARTER: LSU 7, OLE MISS 3
LSU is moving the ball after a defensive pass interference call kept the drive going. Tigers are at the Rebels 43 yard-line once the next quarter begins.
LSU 7, Ole Miss 3 1:40 1st Qtr
Much better drive for Chambliss and the offense. Found something on some read option plays and made some key conversion with the passing game. A batted ball on 3rd and short inside the Tigers 10 yard-line leads to a 25-yard field goal by Caneiro.
LSU 7, Ole Miss 0 9:10 1st Qtr
Tigers strike first with some good luck on the score and a very bad coverage play that resulted in a 50 yard catch. Nic Anderson caught a deflected pass on the rebound and the review upheld he had control and was in bounds. Beyond the deep pass play the Rebels defense held up inside its 10 before the touchdown catch.

Chambliss is getting pressured and that creates a three and out. He found Lacy on a scramble but he dropped the pass to make a third and long. Offensive line is going to have to handle that a little better moving forward.
The Ole Miss defense answered the call on the first possession. Pressure to Nussmeier is the key and they got to him on third down, forcing a punt. Chambliss and Co. back out for a second drive.
Rebels have to punt it away after failing to convert on a 3 & 10. Kutas got a false start to back them up on third down. Time for the Ole Miss defense to see what it can do.
Trinidad Chambliss leads the offense out and officially gets the start.
Ole Miss won the toss and will receive the ball first.
Pregame Observations
The final availability report is out and LSU will be without its key rusher in Caden Durham who is listed as ‘OUT.’ Ole Miss will have cornerback Jaylon Braxton available for the first time this season
Austin Simmons is out for warmups and his left leg is wrapped up all the way to his knee. Chambliss is working out with starting center Brycen Sanders.

No. 13 Ole Miss closes out September with a return to Southeastern Conference play on Saturday, hosting No. 4 LSU.
A second chance at revenge this season awaits the Rebels (4-0, 2-0 SEC) as they look to stay perfect in the early season and stay atop the SEC standings heading into their first open date of the year.
The Tigers (4-0, 1-0) come to Oxford with an offense that is not firing on all cylinders, a quarterback that is not 100 percent and a stagnant running game. A recipe for the Ole Miss defense to have a strong day, potentially.
All signs point to Trinidad Chambliss getting his third-straight start and second SEC career start. Austin Simmons is not listed on the availability report, meaning he could play if needed but Lane Kiffin and the Rebels will stay with the hot hand today.
Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC and Ole Miss is currently a 1.5-point favorite. Keep this page open for live updates, scores and highlights once the game gets underway.
