Ole Miss is a win away from not just playing in a Super Regional but hosting it.

The Rebels beat Murray State, 19-8, on Sunday to force a winner-take-all Game 7 for the Oxford Regional Championship.

This will be the third meeting between the Rebels and the Racers in the Regional. Murray State sent Ole Miss to the loser’s bracket after a 9-6 win on Friday. From there the Rebels went through the gauntlet of Western Kentucky, Georgia Tech and then Murray State a second time.

Sweeping Sunday’s doubleheader has Ole Miss with the opportunity to clinch the regional title on Monday and then host Duke in this weekend’s Super Regional round of the NCAA Baseball Tournament. The Blue Devils won the Athens Regional title by beating Oklahoma State on Sunday who knocked out No. 7 National Seed Georgia earlier in the day.

But first is the game currently in front of the Rebels and that is having to knock out Murray State for good. This is the item No. 1 on the to-do list before any other kind of goals can be achieved.

“We treat it like tomorrow’s the national championship,” Ole Miss first baseman Will Furniss said after Sunday’s games. “Because, in theory, it is. You can’t get to the national championship without winning tomorrow.

“So, we all go home tonight. I believe our game’s later in the day, so we’re going to get some good sleep, hydrate really well, make sure we’re awake and get some breakfast and come to the park to hit some balls around.”

Ole Miss is a 3.5-run favorite according to Draft Kings.
