Ole Miss vs. Oklahoma: Live updates, scores, game highlights

FINAL: No. 8 OLE MISS 34, No. 13 OKLAHOMA 26
Ole Miss 34, Oklahoma 26 4:09 4th Qtr
Oklahoma fumbles on the punt and Rebels recover. A deep 43-yard pass from Chambliss to Watkins leads to more clock draining and a 33-yard field goal by Carniero.
Ole Miss 31, Oklahoma 26 11:33 4th Qtr
Chambliss and the offense needed a response and gets one in a big-time drive. The hero of the drive was Trace Bruckler who Chambliss found on a scramble for an eight-yard pass. The two-point try fails when Caleb Odom can’t hold on to the ball thrown by Simmons.
END OF THE 3RD QTR: OKLAHOMA 26, OLE MISS 25
Oklahoma 26, Ole Miss 25 1:04 3rd Qtr
The long touchdown run by Robinson after the botched 4th down play earlier flipped this game and the momentum/vibe is all Sooners at the moment. Mateer making things happen with his feet and the defense is gassed.
Missed 2-point try keeps it a slim lead for Oklahoma
Ole Miss 25, Oklahoma 20 5:44 3rd Qtr
Welp, seven points would have been much better than three now. On the first play of the drive Xavier Robinson goes 65 yards for the touchdown and there is life in the stadium again.
Ole Miss 25, Oklahoma 13 5:57 3rd Qtr
Turf monster (wet field) took away a first down and maybe a touchdown for Chambliss on the scramble. But Rebels get the three points back with a Carniero field goal. Nice drive to drain the clock that ate up just over five minutes.
Ole Miss 22, Oklahoma 13 11:16 3rd Qtr
Sooners make the 42-yard try.
Ole Miss tried to be a little too cute on fourth down and Lacy was tackled for a turnover on downs at the Rebels 15 yard-line. Defense steps up and a penalty on the Sooners bails out Kiffin’s decision making and a field goal is forced.
1st Half Stats

HALFTIME: OLE MISS 22, OKLAHOMA 10
Sooners defense holding teams to a nation-leading 213 yards per game. The Rebels offense is up to 258 in the first half.
Ole Miss 22, Oklahoma 10 :46 2nd Qtr
Chambliss and Lee is a great connection when they are on. A 31-yard catch put the Rebels back in the red zone. Lacy caps it off with a two-yard run.
Umanmielen is finally getting home today and it is a welcomed site for the beleaguered Rebels defense. The sack on 4th down was a nice momentum swing.
Ole Miss 15, Oklahoma 10 7:33 2nd Qtr
Have to settle for a Carniero field goal from 22 yards out.
The safety and a nice punt return gave the Rebels great field position. Chambliss gets them down to the Sooners five yard-line for a 1st and Goal. Then Austin Simmons comes in and makes two bad passes out the back of the endzone, one to a wide open Stribling.
Ole Miss 12, Oklahoma 10 10:51 2nd Qtr
The punt works out after a flag on the punt followed by a flag on the first down led to a sack by Umanmielen and Echoles. Nice momentum swing there.
Ole Miss 10, Oklahoma 10 14:04 2nd Qtr
Princewill Umanmielen got through the line on third down but slipped/tripped as soon as he got through, giving Mateer time to Isaiah Sategna III who was lost in coverage for a 78-yard touchdown pass to tie the game up.
END OF THE 1ST QTR: OLE MISS 10, OKLAHOMA 3
Both teams trade punts with the Ole Miss defense finally getting a stop. The Rebels drive stalls after a bad snap on third down, presumably a wet ball.

Ole Miss 10, Oklahoma 3 6:07 1st Qtr
Kewan Lacy the MVP of that drive. Solid pass protection and a beautiful 28-yard run for the first touchdown of the day.
Ole Miss 3, Oklahoma 3 8:52 1st Qtr
Sooners drill a 42-yard field goal to tie it up.
The refs might be letting the boys play in the secondary so far. A holding call on the Sooners stalls opening drive. Rebels defensive front got more pressure here than it did most of last week.
Ole Miss 3, Oklahoma 0 12:30 1st Qtr
Lucas Carniero converts the 46-yard field goal try, in the rain.
Offense looked good the early stages of the drive with Chambliss making crisp throws, including a 25-yard pass to Cayden Lee, and having time in the pocket. A poor throw or mis-route by Caleb Odom on second and long stalls the drive when Chambliss’ third down throw to De’Zhaun Stribling is incomplete.
Oklahoma won the toss and deferred, making the Ole Miss offense out first.

No. 8 Ole Miss (6-1, 3-1 Southeastern Conference) travels to Norman for the first time in program history to take on No. 13 Oklahoma (6-1, 2-1) in a game that has College Football Playoff implications.
The overall feeling is this is a CFP play-in game for both teams. For the Rebels it is the last chance for a win over a ranked opponent and a nice résumé-boosting victory. A win would set up the chance for the first 11-win regular season in program history.
Saturday’s matchup is one of good vs. good and bad vs. bad. The Ole Miss offense against the Sooners defense is a pairing of the top units in the country on both sides of the ball. On the other side the Oklahoma offense is good but not at the level of its defense while the Rebels defense is coming an abysmal performance in Athens last week.
The final availability report released 90 minutes before kickoff showed all Ole Miss players are available today. This comes after tight end Dae’Quan Wright and wide receiver Deuce Alexander were listed earlier in the week.
Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT on ABC. Keep this page open for updates, scores and highlights once the game gets underway.
