Throughout Lane Kiffin‘s tenure in Oxford there has been one consistent position group – the Ole Miss wide receivers.

Whether via the transfer portal or through high school recruiting the Rebels have always managed to have one the top passing games in not just the Southeastern Conference but the entire country. In 2024 they were second in the nation in passing with 350.8 yards per game and 10th in the nation with 31 passing touchdowns.

Most of last year’s production is gone with Tre Harris, Jordan Watkins and Caden Prieskorn but Cayden Lee is back as to the top returner.

Despite a slew of new faces in the room via the portal and top in-state high school talent that has yet to play a game together Ole Miss is still viewed as one of the top wide receiver rooms in the country, at least by CBS Sports.

On Wednesday the outlet revealed its top wide receivers rooms for 2025 with Ole Miss among them, earning an honorable mention and missing out on a top five ranking.

Lee was included among the group as a reason why the Rebels were part of the honorable mention group with Oregon, Georgia, Texas and Notre Dame. So was Oklahoma State transfer De’Zhaun Stribling and Penn State transfer Harrison Wallace III.

Last season Lee finished third on the team with 874 yards and two touchdowns on 57 catches. He did not drop one ball all season.

In his final season in Stillwater, Stribling finished as the Cowboys leading receiver with 882 yards and six touchdowns on 52 catches. At Happy Valley Wallace was the Nittany Lions second-leading receiver in 2024 with 46 catches for 720 yards and four touchdowns.

Ole Miss has more than that trio in the room expecting to be contributors to the air attack by quarterback Austin Simmons. Alabama transfer Caleb Odom, West Virginia transfer Traylon Ray and Wake Forest transfer Deuce Alexander should all get reps and opportunities.

Then there is a strong high school quartet of Caleb Cunningham, Dillon Alfred, Samari Reed and Winston Watkins, Jr.

“He could be huge,” sixth-year Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin previously said of Cunningham. “That was a really big [addition]. He’s a great player. At one point looked like he was leaving the state and got him back. Great kid and great family and a position of need next year. We have very high expectations for him.”

The top five ranked by CBS Sports was Ohio State, Clemson, Alabama, Auburn and LSU.
