Ole Miss took care of business and sent Florida back to Gainesville with a loss and a bit of revenge for what the Gators did nearly a year ago to the day.

Now, the Rebels (10-1, 6-1 Southeastern Conference) sit back and enjoy a well earned rest with its second bye week arriving. Then it is to Starkville for the Egg Bowl and a shot at the program’s first 11-win regular season.

But what did Saturday’s win do in the latest Top 25 rankings? Well the victory paired with Oklahoma’s victory over Alabama bumped Ole Miss up a spot to No. 5 in the Associated Press and up a spot to No. 6 in the Coaches Polls.

These are now more for guidance of how the latest College Football Playoff Top 25 rankings might go. The Week 3 CFP rankings will be released on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. CT on ESPN. Last week the Rebels were No. 7 and could see that same bump this week.

They have a 89 percent chance of making the CFP according to ESPN’s FPI but need to beat the Bulldogs on Black Friday lock up a bid and throw away the key. ESPN’s matchup predictor currently gives Ole Miss a 72.8 percent chance of winning the Egg Bowl for a fifth time in the last six years.
