Ole Miss won its fifth straight season opener under head coach Lane Kiffin this past Saturday with a 56-point rout of Georgia State.

The Rebels avoided a misstep in Week 1 of the 2025 season and set themselves up for an important Week 2 matchup at Kentucky.

With Saturday’s win Ole Miss also received a small bump in the first Top 25 rankings of the regular season, moving up a spot to No. 20 in the Associated Press and one spot to No. 14 in the Coaches Poll.

The Rebels (1-0) are one of nine Southeastern Conference teams inside the AP Top 20. Alabama fell 13 spots to No. 21 after its loss at Florida State.

LSU (No. 3), Georgia (No. 4), Florida (No. 5), Texas (No. 7) and South Carolina (No. 10) make up half of this week’s AP Top 10 and four of those are still on the schedule for Ole Miss this season.

The Rebels and Wildcats are the first SEC matchup of the season and the only conference game in Week 2. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC at Kroger Field.
