Ole Miss is no longer among the ranks of the unbeaten after Georgia handed them a 43-35 loss in Athens on Saturday.

The Rebels (6-1) also lost ground in the Southeastern Conference race, falling from top the standings to tie third place with a 3-1 record but only a game back of leading Texas A&M and Alabama.

With its first blemish on the season Ole Miss did not take too much of a hit in this week’s Top 25 rankings. It fell three spots to No. 8 in both the Associated Press and Coaches Polls. Georgia moved up inside the Top 5 after the win.

Next Saturday in Norman misses out on a second Top 10 matchup for the Rebels with Oklahoma sitting at No. 13 in the AP Poll after its win at South Carolina. Ole Miss and the Sooners kickoff at 11 a.m. CT on ABC next Saturday.

“It does feel like the NFL. Like, here comes another really hard place to play against the top defense in the country,” Lane Kiffin said after Saturday’s game of Oklahoma. “That’s going to be a really big test, but we got a lot of things to fix.”

SEC Network announced its SEC Nation show will air from Norman Saturday morning.
