POLL POSITION: Ole Miss stays steady in latest Top 25 rankings entering Week 12

Business was taken care of on Saturday when Ole Miss handled The Citadel with a 49-0 victory. The win gave the Rebels their best start through 10 games since going 10-0 in 1962.
Most of the Top 10 teams took care of their respective business, too, so not much change occurred. Indiana survived a scare from Penn State, which was the only close game as did Oregon at Iowa in the pouring rain.
Ole Miss moved up a spot to No. 6 in the Associated Press poll, swapping spots with the Ducks, and remained No. 7 in the Coaches Poll in newest rankings released on Sunday. It is the highest ranked the Rebels have been at this point of a season since being No. 8 in the Week 12 AP Poll released on November 16, 2014.

Texas A&M (3), Alabama (4) and Georgia (5) remain ahead of the Rebels this week.
With the College Football Playoffs now releasing weekly rankings, starting with last Tuesday’s Top 25, these are more of a guide for what the CFP could look like. The Rebels were No. 6 in last week’s and with No. 8 Texas Tech beating No. 7 BYU on Saturday it would not be a shock to see the Red Raiders leapfrog Ole Miss. We shall see come Tuesday.
The Rebels will host Florida on Saturday at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN before hitting its second and final open date of the season on November 22. They will wrap up the 2025 regular season at Mississippi State for the annual Egg Bowl on November 28 at 11 a.m. CT.
