Ole Miss has landed French combo guard Ilias Kamardine

Last week the Ole Miss men’s basketball team saw its roster for the upcoming season become whole with the arrival of transfer guard Ilias Kamardine.

On Monday CBS Sports Jon Rothstein reported that the NCAA fully cleared Kamardine and will be eligible for the 2025-26 season.

Kamardine made it to Oxford last Monday after waiting through a lengthy visa process. The French national completes head coach Chris Beard’s roster for his third season in Oxford.

While getting Kamardine in time for the school year, which starts today, is a positive Beard and his staff spent the last week getting the transfer into the acclimation process as well as adapting to the Ole Miss program’s practice regimen.

Missing the eight-weeks of Summer workouts is a concern for Beard but he was also confident that Kamardin’e pro experience in France will help get him to where he needs to be come preseason workouts in October.

“I come into it knowing the task is going to be very difficult,” Beard said last week. “You’re talking about adding one of your best players late in the process, but I’m confident because we’re dealing with an experienced guy. It’s be much more difficult with a young player, although we’ve done that before, too. It’s going to be a team effort.”

Kamardine played for JDA Dijon in the 2024-25 season. He made 48 appearances for the team, averaging 8.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 18.2 minutes per game. The 6-foot-4 marksman shot 43.5% from the floor and 39.8% from three-point distance.
