The calendar says mid-June but the 2025-26 schedule for Ole Miss men’s basketball is starting to fill out.

Another key non-conference game was revealed on Wednesday when Jon Rothstein reported the full slate of men’s games for the 2025 ACC-SEC Challenge. The Rebels will be hosting Miami, according to Rothstein.

This will be the third matchup in the series between the Rebels and Hurricanes and first in 14 years. The previous two games were won by the visiting team with Ole Miss winning the November 30, 2010 game in Coral Gables, Florida. Miami evened the series the following year with an overtime win on November 25, 2011 in Oxford.

The Hurricanes went 7-24 last season with a 3-17 record in ACC play, finishing last in the conference.

Last year Ole Miss traveled to Louisville for the ACC-SEC Challenge, beating the Cardinals by 23 points in an early December matchup. Two years ago the Rebels beat North Carolina State in Oxford.

Beard is entering his third year at Ole Miss and is still constructing the upcoming season’s non-conference schedule, though some key matchups he did confirm on Tuesday.

The Rebels will be traveling to New York City to play St. John’s at Madison Square Garden. Beard did not provide a date for it but a report earlier this year coming out of NYC had it set for an early December game.

Memphis will also return to Oxford to continue the annual series with the SJB Pavilion playing host this year.

Ole Miss will also travel back out to California for a second straight year, playing in the 2025 Acrisure Series in Palm Desert over Thanksgiving Week.

Despite the success of a Sweet 16 run last season the schedule making has proven to still be a challenge for Beard and his staff.

“Not easier. It can get easier in some ways if you prove to be a worthy opponent of anybody, anywhere, anytime” Beard said. “You got to be really good to get the schedule that we want at Ole Miss. Sometimes you can’t be too good, though. So it kind of goes on both ends. I think we’re in a really good spot.

“We want to play that schedule, but it’s a process to get there. By me declaring that doesn’t mean that my phone starts ringing. There’s a lot of work and scheduling. We have the responsibility to play really good games in the Pavilion for our season ticket holders. I know it’s important to me and (Ole Miss athletics director) Keith (Carter).”

Beard added that they are also still working to add another “showcase” game against a Power 4 opponent to the schedule to be played in Oxford, but did not elaborate further than that.
