Trinidad Chambliss injury: Ole Miss QB Austin Simmons enters Arkansas game

With 5:05 to go in the 2nd quarter, Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss exited Saturday’s game against Arkansas with a hand injury. Chambliss made his first career start for the Rebels on Saturday against the Razorbacks.
UPDATE: Chambliss re-entered the game before halftime, in time for the final drive before the break.
Usual starting quarterback Austin Simmons entered the game and worked the Rebels inside the 5 of the Razorbacks. Then, he tossed a touchdown pass to Harrison Wallace to give Ole Miss a 28-21 lead with 3:17 to play.
ESPN’s Taylor McGregor reported Chambliss’ hand was bleeding and trainers were applying glue to it.
Chambliss was 9-of-11 for 177 yards and added two rushing scores on six carries for 23 yards.
It’s been a week for the Ole Miss quarterback situation as Simmons was nicked up from the Kentucky game.

Simmons started the week listed as ‘Probable’ on Wednesday’s report. Simmons practiced on Friday, according to Rebel Grove’s Chuck Rounsaville, though it was a walk through practice with no contact. He took snaps with the second team for a second-straight day while Trinidad Chambliss took first team reps as he has all week.
Simmons exited the Kentucky game and Chambliss replaced him in the 4th quarter. A pair of early interceptions put Ole Miss in a bind against the Wildcats, but Simmons recovered to lead the Rebels to a 30-23 win.
