Troy RB transfer Damien Taylor commits to Ole Miss

Troy Trojans transfer running back Damien Taylor has committed to Ole Miss after his visit, he told Ole Miss Spirit. His visit to Oxford stood out in a big way that helped seal his decision.
“It’s a community here,” Taylor told On3. “Just walking around, just meeting people out there in the square, the coaches been great, accepting. Handshakes everywhere. It’s just been a great all-around visit so far.”
With his conversations with running backs coach Kevin Smith, head coach Lane Kiffin and others, he saw the vision for himself. He’ll have one year of eligibility remaining at Ole Miss.
“I definitely feel like I fit the offense pretty well,” Taylor said. “I complement them in the schemes they want to run and their visions, and to compliment the other players in my position group, and in the offense as a whole.

“They’ve been showing me how my skill sets will fit the offense so well and how I can complement each other and just how I can be a piece of this team that can take us to the next level as well.”
Taylor got to watch the scrimmage and saw the Rebels look the part as a whole.
“The team definitely looked good. All of them looked explosive,” the All-Sun Belt pick said. “The defense looked real good all around. It’s just everything. It’s been a great experience.”
Colorado and Oklahoma were also pushing for him to get on campus. This past season, Taylor put up 1,010 yards on 173 carries, good for 84.2 yards per game at 5.8 yards per carry, with seven touchdowns.
