Updated odds released for Ole Miss season opener against Georgia State

Ole Miss opens up its 2025 season in 11 days against Georgia State and new odds released have it as a heavy favorite to start the year in the win column.
BetMGM still has only three of the Rebels 12 games with preseason spreads and one of them is the August 30 matchup against the Panthers. Currently No. 21 Ole Miss is a 38.5-point favorite.
That is down from 39.5 where BetMGM opened the line earlier this Summer.
The win total for Ole Miss is still set at 8.5 and the expectation for an 8-4 or 9-3 season is still the popular predictions.
With a new first-year starter in Austin Simmons and a lot of new players across both sides of the football has national prognosticators cautiously optimistic about the Rebels outlook this Fall.
“I’m sure like a lot of people this time of year there’s a lot of injuries and guys having to go with different groups and things so that’s frustrating at times, but also good for those guys to get an opportunity and hopefully make the most of them,” Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin said on Monday. “Got a lot of work to do with under two weeks to go and I’m very pleased with some things but there’s other things that we’ve got a long ways to go.”

After a line shift the Rebels are now underdogs in both Southeastern Conference games with odds from BetMGM.
Earlier this Summer Ole Miss was a 1.5-point favorite over No. 9 LSU in the teams September 27 showdown. That line has now flipped with the Tigers being a 1.5-point road favorite and the Rebels the home underdog.
The line between Ole Miss and No. 5 Georgia still remains with the Bulldogs being a 10.5-point favorite for the October 18 game in Athens.
