No. 7 Ole Miss got its biggest road win of the Lane Kiffin era last Saturday with its 34-26 victory over then-No. 13 OKlahoma in Norman.

The win did a lot of good things for the Rebels (7-1, 4-1 Southeastern Conference) but the biggest was keeping them firmly in the College Football Playoffs picture. Saturday’s game inside Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium was essentially a play-in game for whichever team emerged victorious.

After the win Ole Miss now has a 69 percent chance to make the CFP according to ESPN’s FPI. Maybe a more important number to look at is the FPI giving the Rebels a 36.4 percent chance to win out its final four games. Those are home games against South Carolina, The Citadel, Florida and then the Egg Bowl at Mississippi State.

This week’s bowl projections see Ole Miss in the CFP and also making it to the quarterfinals. A majority of the projections see it heading out west to play in ‘The Grandaddy of them all.’
