No. 6 Ole Miss knocked off The Citadel with ease on Saturday, 49-0, to move to 9-1 and improve to 2-0 in November.

The job is half done with two more games to go this month that will all but punch the Rebels ticket into the College Football playoff with wins over Florida this Saturday (6 p.m. CT) and at Mississippi State on Black Friday (11 a.m. CT) for this year’s edition of the The Egg Bowl.

This week’s bowl projections have Ole Miss firmly in the 12-team field, as do last week’s CFP Top 25 rankings. Tuesday will welcome the second batch of rankings and the Rebels will know exactly where it stands ahead of the Gators coming to Oxford this weekend.

In the initial CFP Top 25 the Rebels were No. 6 and were slotted to host No. 11 Virginia in a potential first round game based on the rankings. The Cavaliers lost to Wake Forest, 16-9, at home which will cause some shuffling along with No. 8 Texas Tech beat No. 7 BYU.

This week’s College Football Playoff Top 25 rankings will be revealed on Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN.
