The Oregon baseball program was scheduled to hit the road this week for its first away series of the season.

But due to weather conditions, plans have changed.

UO announced on Wednesday that the Ducks’ upcoming four games series with UC Santa Barbara in Goleta, Calif., has been moved to PK Park in Eugene due to significant rainfall in Southern California. The series has also been shortened to three games.

Oregon and UC Santa Barbara will kick things off Friday with one game that is slated for a 2:05 p.m. PT first pitch.

On Saturday, the Ducks and Gauchos will play a doubleheader, with the first game beginning at 11:05 a.m. The second game of the afternoon will begin 45 minutes after the first game ends.

Per UO, season ticket holders will get their reserved ticket locations free of charge. They can be viewed in the Go Ducks gameday app now. Tickets, starting at $7, can be purchased online here.

UO students can claim complimentary tickets through their online student accounts.

The Ducks (4-0) have been red-hot to start the season and completed a four-game series sweep of Xavier in Eugene last weekend. Oregon got some big contributions from its stable of freshmen starting pitchers.

“The freshmen arms threw very very well and it was impressive to watch them,” Oregon head coach Mark Wasikowksi said following Sunday’s win. (Oregon pitching coach Jake Angier) invested the amount of time that he has in those freshmen arms and those guys being able to slow the game down and just execute their pitches.

“Jackson Pace again today, Dylan McShane as well. They made it look easy and it’s not easy. I was very happy and pleased with what we saw this weekend pitching-wise.”

Junior catcher Josiah Cromwick was recognized by Collegiate Baseball as a national player of the week after hitting three home runs in as many games. Cromwick went 4-for-9 (.444) with three home runs, a double, six RBI, four runs scored, and a stolen base while reaching base at a .500 clip and slugging 1.556.

“I think I was just relaxed,” Cromwick said following Oregon’s win on Sunday. “I was able to see the ball well today and yesterday, and just trying to get a good pitch to hit and help our team win.”

This weekend’s series with UC Santa Barbara will mark a return to Eugene for Gaucho’s head coach Andrew Checketts, a former Oregon pitching coach who served on George Horton’s staff from 2008-2011.
