Oregon Football: Peyton Woodyard and Derrick Harmon Commit To Oregon

There’s no time to rest following the conclusion of spring football in Eugene. The Oregon coaching staff hit the ground running and is out on the road throughout the country to see coaches, recruits and families during the spring evaluation period.

Here are some of the stops that Dan Lanning’s coaching staff have been able to make this week.

Brian Michalowksi: Florida

Michalowski was out in the Sunshine State, which has to be good for Oregon fans to see. The Ducks haven’t had a ton of success recruiting the state of Florida over the years, but they’re not letting that deter them. Players like Dallas Wilson (2025 Oregon WR commit), DJ Pickett and Gavin Nix are all big names that come to mind for the Ducks this cycle.

I was able to confirm with a source that Michalowski visited Nix on Monday. That’s a positive development after Nix recently took his first trip out to Oregon last month and is working on setting up an official visit.

A small note to add here as it pertains to Florida: both Wilson and Pickett will be at the On3 Elite event in Nashville later this month. ScoopDuck will be there as well.

Ra’Shaad Samples: Oklahoma

Oregon’s new running backs coach is out in familiar territory. Oklahoma an Texas are actually linked together pretty closely when it comes to recruiting. This might sound obvious due to geography, but they’re sometimes spoken about as Tex-Oma, combining the two states.

The Ducks have a ton of offers to recruits out in Oklahoma, but I’d highlight Durant (Okla.) EDGE Colton Yarbrough as one to know early for the 2026 class. Durant is where the Ducks found true freshman DL Xadavien Sims last cycle. I’m told Samples is expected in the Durant area on Tuesday.

Tony Tuioti: Tennessee

This visit is particularly interesting from an Oregon angle because Hayden Williams is the head coach at Humboldt High School, which is home to 2025 Georgia defensive line commit Stephon Shivers. Shivers has been committed to Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs but it appears Tuioti is at the very least kicking the tires here.

A’lique Terry/Will Stein: Georgia

Oregon’s offensive coordinator AND offensive line coach made the trip out to the Atlanta area likely to check in on 2025 offensive tackle Juan Gaston. Georgia seems like the team to beat as one would maybe expect, but Gaston has visited Oregon before and the Ducks look to be in the mix for an official visit.

With Josh Conerly and Ajani Cornelius entering their last seasons in Eugene offensive line is a major priority this cycle.

Drew Mehringer: Detroit

Drew Mehringer was on the road in the Midwest, another area the Ducks are trying to strengthen their presence in. Oregon was able to get Dante Moore from the the transfer portal, who’s originally from the Detroit area.

Mehringer was likely in to see 2026 Detroit Catholic Central tight end Jack Janda.
