There will eventually be a widespread overhaul of Oregon’s coaching staff under newly-hired head coach Dan Lanning.

But the Ducks’ current coaching staff will stay entirely intact through the Dec. 29 Alamo Bowl, Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens confirmed Monday.

“The staff is extremely committed to finishing the season, the commitment they made to the student-athletes,” Mullens said. “We were able to go to the Fiesta Bowl, but it wasn’t a true bowl experience and so we’re a year into a process of trying to get back to normal and for these student-athletes to have an experience… They’re all still here coaching thee young men through the bowl.”

Mullens was asked in a follow-up question if there are any coaches from Cristobal’s staff, aside from Cristobal, who will not stay with the Ducks for the Alamo Bowl.

“Off the top of my head, I don’t know of anybody,” Mullens said. “Everybody is here coaching.”

A handful of Oregon assistants have already officially accepted jobs elsewhere. Offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead will be Akron’s next head coach, and defensive coordinator Tim DeRuyter will take the same position at Texas Tech.

Secondary coach Marcel yates will follow DeRuyter to Texas Tech, and Ken Wilson has accepted an offer to be the next head coach at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Offensive line coach Alex Mirabal is expected to join Mario Cristobal’s staff at Miami and has already been on recruiting visits for the Hurricanes.

“Alex asked — he has a real commitment to his student-athletes — he wanted to finish out what he started with this group and we welcomed him back to coach for the bowl game.”

Strength and conditioning coach Aaron Feld will also remain with the Ducks for the Alamo Bowl.

Bryan McClendon, Oregon’s receivers coach and pass game coordinator, is serving as interim head coach.
