Predicting the Pac: Week Five

Last week was a clean sweep of picks for me. Now I’m not picking against the spread so my job is a lot easier. But with the clean week, I move to 33-7 on the season which isn’t half bad. Maybe I should move to Vegas.
Until then, another great lineup of Pac-12 games on deck starting Friday night. Let’s get into the games and my picks. (Times listed in PST)
Utah @ Oregon State
FRI 6:00 PM – FS1
The game of the week will be under Friday night lights in Corvallis. I know the media is hyping up Colorado/USC, which we’ll get to, but this could be a better game. It just won’t have all the ‘stars on the sidelines.’ Oregon State got exposed last week against Washington State. Utah is a bad matchup for them. Give me the Utes here, with or without Cam Rising.
USC @ Colorado
SAT 9 AM – FOX
Starting Saturday off with a bang. The most overhyped game that will result in a blowout. Colorado’s AD ‘urging’ fans not to storm the field if they win. I’ll say this, if Colorado makes this a game, it will tell us an awful lot about USC. The Trojans should roll here and win by 24+.

ASU @ Cal
Noon – Pac-12
Likely the closest game of the week, however it’s the best of the worst. I doubt I’ll be watching but I expect the final score to be close. Call it a shocker if you want, but I’ve got ASU edging out Cal.
Oregon @ Stanford
3:30 PM – Pac-12
You know my score already. I’ve got Oregon winning 38-14 in this one. We’ll consider it a bit of a ‘sluggish win’ but a win just the same. Let’s just hope Oregon escapes the Farm sans injury.
Washington @ Arizona
7:00 PM – Pac-12
Can Arizona poke some holes in the UW defense which I remain skeptical about? Maybe. They need to be ready and take advantage of a hostile home crowd. I still think UW pulls out the win but we see some chinks in the armor in the first half.
