ScoopDuck Gameballs for Stanford Win

The Ducks got it done in Palo Alto on Saturday. It came after some big performances from several Ducks. Below are our picks for ‘Game Balls’ following the win.
Corpatty: Jordan James
I picked him to be my offensive player of the game and he didn’t disappoint. James rushed for a career-high 88 yards on just 6 carries. He got the Oregon offense started with a 30-yard TD run in the second quarter, giving the Ducks a 7-6 lead and jump starting the offense. From there, Oregon never looked back.
Doug Scott: Troy Franklin & Evan Williams
Offense: Troy Franklin. When the Ducks needed a spark after a pair of 3 and outs, they needed a spark. Stein and Bo dialed up a couple designed plays to Troy and that fuse was lit and it was off the the races. For the game Franklin recorded an effortless 7-117-2 line and set the tone for Oregon’s offense to roll out 6 straight TD drives and never look back.
On a defense that always seems to the definition of a team unit, it’s sometimes hard to find the standout. Once again there are a lot of candidates for this one but I’m going to go with Evan Williams. His hard nosed tackling and aggressive style fired up the fans and players alike and he finished second on the team with 7 tackles and added a sack for good measure.

Jarrid Denney: Troy Franklin
It’s still early days, but Troy Franklin is on pace for one of the greatest seasons ever by an Oregon receiver. He caught seven passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns on Saturday and recorded his fourth 100-yard game of the season. He ranks ninth nationally with 535 receiving yards and second nationally with seven receiving touchdowns. He’s quite simply one of the best receivers in all of college football.
Jhop: Evan Williams
I thought Williams set the tone for the Oregon defense when things got back on track. It felt like there were times he was everywhere for Oregon. And I love that he has no problem sticking his nose in there and getting dirty when its needed. He was second on the team in total tackles with a sack and TFL. Williams had himself a day in his return back to the Bay.
