It’s game day Duck fans and the last roundtable for this week. Now we are breaking down which Ducks will need to step up for Oregon against the Huskies. We know it won’t be easy but Oregon is a heavy favorite with the Vegas oddsmakers.

Below are our predictions on which Oregon players will need to step up against the Huskies.

Corpatty:

Bo Nix

I’m sticking with the horse that got us here.  If Oregon is going to win, Nix needs to have another big, efficient game and play like a Heisman trophy winner.

Brandon Dorlus

If Oregon is going to win, Dorlus needs to harass Penix often and get plenty of shots on his sore ribs.   This is a game where your stars have to be stars.

Jarrid Denney:

Bo Nix

Oregon’s star quarterback is going to get his Heisman moment on Saturday. Since the Week 7 loss in Seattle, Nix has been as dialed in as any quarterback I’ve ever watched. I think he’ll deliver an all-timer in Vegas and help punch the Ducks’ ticket to the College Football Playoff.

Brandon Dorlus

It’s no secret that Michael Penix hasn’t been quite as dynamic over the past month as he was early in the season. But he’s still arguably the best downfield passer in the nation when operating in a clean pocket. The Ducks are going to have to find a way to consistently pressure him. Brandon Dorlus will undoubtedly be dialed in for the biggest game of his career and will be a constant, disruptive presence on Friday.

Joel Gunderson:

Bo Nix

Oregon’s run game was ineffective against the Beavers, Nix has a Heisman on the line, and the Huskies’ secondary isn’t great.

Add that up, and we’ll see Nix unload. Remember, after the UW game in October, fans wondered aloud why Oregon wasn’t throwing downfield more; since that game, they’ve looked more and more explosive.

Jayden Daniels is sitting at home, and Penix has been a favorite all season. Watch for Nix to shut the door on both.

Khyree Jackson

Khyree’s hot start to the season has cooled a bit as he’s been dinged up, but he played a whale of a game against Oregon State, and he will undoubtedly be looking for revenge after not playing in the second half of the first matchup.

Jackson doesn’t have to stop Rome Odunze, but slowing him down will go a long way.

Doug Scott:

Bo Nix

Bo Nix of course.

Jordan Burch

Burch dominated the Beaver OL, and will pick up right where he left on in this one, leading a relentless Duck Defense to another strong performance.

Jhop:

Bucky Irving

Oregon will need Bo Nix to play well. I have no doubt about that. What will make Nix dangerous tonight is the same reason I list Irving. The Ducks will need to run the ball effectively. Penix and Odunze can not score if they don’t have the ball in their hands. The Ducks need to effectively run the ball both with Irving and Nix using his legs. They don’t need a ton of yards nor big plays, just the consistent threat of the run. Especially on those fourth and shorts Oregon was not able to convert in Seattle.

Brandon Dorlus

This is his last chance to pin his ears back and get after Michael Penix. And Oregon will need that threat of the pass rush to keep UW’s offense off-schedule. I hope Tosh and company pin their ears back and get to Penix early and often or else it could be a long day. It will be either Burch or Dorlus but I expect one of them to come up big today. Pick your poison UW.
