Will Stein doesn't like to over-complicate things. Oregon's first-year offensive coordinator has made a rapid ascent through the coaching ranks, in part, because he rejects the notion that he needs to reinvent the wheel in order to succeed. Before joining Dan Lanning's staff in December, he spent the 2022 season at UTSA calling plays for one of the most productive offenses in the country. At just 33 years old, he's already made coaching stops at Texas, Louisville, and high school powerhouse Lake Travis. Along the way, he's worked under some of the brightest minds in college football. His approach to the game has been shaped by time spent under Jeff Brohm, Charlie Strong, Tom Herman, and countless others. Stein's offensive philosophy is simple: he wants to get the ball to Oregon's best players as many times as possible. "Plays are highly overrated. It's about the players," Stein said while meeting with reporters on Saturday. "Here at Oregon, we have unbelievable players."
