4 things to know about Penn State football's media day today: How to watch James Franklin and more

Penn State football continues preseason camp today when it holds its annual local media day in the early afternoon before hitting the practice field again tonight. Head coach James Franklin is preparing for his 12th season as the leader of the Lions. He boasts a 101-42 record over his first 143 games in State College and has assembled what he believes is his most elite collection of on- and off-field personnel yet.
“This is the best combined personnel that I think we’ve had at Penn State, and when I talk about personnel, I’m talking about players and staff, from a depth, from a talent standpoint, and from an experience standpoint,” Franklin said at Big Ten Media Days last week in Las Vegas. “So we’re very excited about that.”
A full buffet of Penn State football news will be coming your way throughout the day. Below, we have five items of note to review before things get going at Beaver Stadium.
How can I watch the Penn State football media day news conferences?
The best place to go will be Blue-White Illustrated’s YouTube channel. We’ll have a look at James Franklin’s full news conference shortly after it ends at approximately 12:45 p.m. ET. We’ll then have videos at some point throughout the day from coordinators Andy Kotelnicki, Jim Knowles, and Justin Lustig.
If you want to watch the news conferences live, Penn State Athletics is streaming them exclusively in that capacity. You can view that feed by clicking here. Franklin starts at 12:15 p.m. ET.
What if I want to follow live updates?
You’ve come to the right place! Blue-White Illustrated will have complete and comprehensive coverage all day long from State College. What’s the top question for James Franklin on Saturday?
After speaking for a total of an hour last week in Las Vegas, many of the usual preseason queries are covered. But, one thing that did not come up at Big Ten Media Days is this: Are all the players who missed spring ball for one reason or another ready to roll now in preseason camp? And, is there anyone who has popped up on the injury report along the way who might be limited or otherwise sidelined right now?
Franklin is usually unwilling to share much on this topic. But, we know he’ll be asked about it, and so we’ll find out what he has to say.
