Blue-White Game Preview: What to Expect during Penn State Spring Game

It’s game week for the first time since January for Penn State football. For the only time until the 2025 season, Penn State suits up to play for fans in the annual Blue-White Game on Saturday. Join the BWI Live Show as we discuss the final week of practice, the latest transfer portal news, and more! Veteran reporters Sean Fitz and Nate Bauer sit down for an hour to talk about the latest football and recruiting news with you!

Penn State portal update

Penn State football moved quickly last week, hosting one of the top wide receiver options in the portal on Friday. Former Syracuse wide receiver Trebor Pena joined the program to meet the staff and see how he’d fit with the Lions as one of his first stops in his portal free agency. We’ll discuss what we’ve learned about Pena, his skills, and how he fits into the program.

From there, we’ll zoom out and discuss what we’ve seen in the portal while discussing Penn State’s chances of hosting or landing more prospects before the window closes on April 26.

Fitz’s Recruiting Update

Penn State was also busy recruiting at the end of last week. Three-star safety Darrell Carey committed to the program. We’ll discuss his fit, Fitz’s impressions of the prospect, and how he works into the program’s overall strategy for 2025.

Of course, the team has two safeties committed and a third athlete who could play the position already. How does that affect Joey O’Brien’s place on the roster? Fitz will discuss the news from his visit, which took place on Thursday and Friday.

Finally, we’ll review the rest of the important names and faces of those who showed up last weekend or on Monday.
