Current and former Penn State players react to firing of James Franklin
Penn State athletic director Pat Kraft officially made the move Sunday, firing former head coach James Franklin in what was an unthinkable move just a few weeks ago. Following three straight losses in what was expected to be one of the best seasons in recent decades, the administration decided to pay one of the biggest buyouts in college football history to move on from a coach who spent over a decade building up the program.
There have been plenty of ups and downs along the way, but if there’s one thing that most would agree on, it’s that Franklin was fiercely loyal to his players throughout his tenure. That’s why it should be no surprise that so many of them showed their support for Franklin throughout the day on Sunday.
