Penn State football’s recruiting class of 2026 received another blow on Wednesday evening when three-star offensive lineman Roseby Lubintus flipped his commitment from the Nittany Lions to Syracuse. We’ll discuss the situation on today’s show with recruiting reporters Ryan Snyder and Sean Fitz. We’ll also use today to turn the page from 2026 to 2027 and preview the important names emerging from the summer camp season for the next class.

Penn State Class of 2026 takes a hit

Penn State’s June recruiting didn’t go as planned, with the team losing out on all of it’s top targets. Now, the team is losing recruits in July. Lubintus, a New Jersey lineman who committed to the program in the spring, flipped his commitment to Syracuse on Wednesday evening. We’ll discuss what why he said he made the change and what it means for the group of offensive linemen in this cycle.

However, it’s not all bad news from yesterday. Class of 2027 offensive lineman from Coatesville, Maxwell Hiller included Penn State in his top eight schools. We’ll discuss which schools made the list and discuss what the team will need to do to land the next elite lineman prospect from Pennsylvania.

Introducing the Class of 2027

We’ve discussed the players individually, but today is the first time we’ll preview the upcoming recruiting cycle in 2027. We’ll discuss the important names to know for Penn State’s next run at a top ten class, including the players committed to program, early names interested in the program, and the team’s top regional prospects.

Snyder recently spoke with Kemon Spell and Isaiah Rogers, two of the top running back prospects for this current cycle. Spell is already a top 15 player nationally and committed to the program. Rogers is a fast-rising regional prospect, who we’ll discuss on the show.

Finally, we’ll discuss the changes to the recruiting calendar for this year. There’s a full dead period between now and the start of the 2025 football season at the end of August. Is that a detriment to Penn State’s chances of landing another recruit for 2027? The team has accomplished strong results at the end of summer in past years. Can they find a way to keep themselves ahead for the next cycle? Join the show to discuss that, plus whatever is on your mind in the live chat!
