No. 3 Penn State hosts No. 6 Oregon today at Beaver Stadium. A crowd White Out will be in effect for the game, which starts at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Back in the summer, oddsmakers made the Nittany Lions a favorite to beat the Ducks despite the 2024 Big Ten title game outcome. Then, when game week arrived, that continued to be the case. And now that game day is here, nothing has changed in that regard.

BetMGM is listing head coach James Franklin’s team as a 3.5-point favorite. The betting over/under total is set at 52.5 points. The moneyline is Penn State -175, Oregon +145. PSU is also a 2.5-point first half favorite.

”Bettors are gearing up for what might be the best weekend of college football yet,” BetMGM tranding manager Seamus Magee said in a news release. “Saturday features ranked matchups like Oregon at Penn State, LSU at Ole Miss, and Alabama at Georgia, where Oregon and LSU are the most bet underdogs to win, while Georgia and Ohio State are two of the most popular favorites to cover.”

According to the betting operator, Penn State-Oregon is the most bet game of the day from a purely number of tickets placed perspective. Ducks +3.5 has the third most tickets on it overall on the day. And, Dan Lanning’s team is the second most bet underdog of the day besides LSU at Ole Miss. Additionally, BetMGM says that more money has been wagered on the Penn State -3.5 and moneyline numbers in addition to the over. You can see full details in the graphic below.

Speaking on The Pat McAfee show on Friday afternoon, Penn State coach James Franklin said his team is ready for its first test of the season.

“I think with everybody, right, whether it’s in the NFL, whether it’s college, you’re waiting for that first big opponent that people describe where both are going to be tested and how you’re going to handle that,” Franklin said. “So we got a ton of respect for the first three teams that we’ve played. But obviously this is different. This is the number six team in the country coming into our place. Ton of talent, ton of weapons, lot of success. We obviously played them last year as well. So this is our first true test.”
