STATE COLLEGE — Welcome back to game day, Penn State fans! The No. 2 Nittany Lions take the field today when FIU visits Beaver Stadium for the second time and first since 2007.

“We want to make sure that we find a way to win this game, that we play well and get better, and that we stay as healthy as we possibly can,” Lions coach James Franklin said Wednesday.

“That’s playing 73 guys as part of that, gaining that experience, and also limiting guys’ reps. We’d love to be able to do that again, if possible. Most importantly, we got to win the game.”

Added first year Panthers head coach Willie Simmons:

“Obviously, have a tough task this week. Penn State, arguably the number one team in the country, first road trip going to the Happy Valley, one of the most intimidating places to play in the country. So got our hands full, but looking forward to the opportunity, and with a great week of preparation, want to give ourselves the best chance to go up there and make history.”
