Penn State football returns to action on Saturday when it welcomes Villanova to Beaver Stadium. While a point spread is not yet out due to this being an FBS vs. FCS contest, the Lions will be a massive favorite. The contest serves as the final non-conference tuneup for the home team, which is 2-0. Head coach Mark Ferrante’s Wildcats are 1-0 after starting their season with a win over Colgate last week.

“Villanova coming in here, in-state foe that we got a lot of respect for,” Franklin said on Monday. “I’ve known the head coach, Coach Ferrante for a long time. Pretty cool. He’s been there 39 years. Former O-line coach, now been the head coach going on nine years, ten years. But the consistency that they’ve had in their program has been awesome, and it’s led to really good things for them.

“Expect a packed house and great environment here. Looking forward to Saturday, and we can open up to questions.”
