Time for our Penn State weekly recruiting update presented by our friend Andy Luedecke at MyPerfectFranchise. Andy is a huge college sports fan and franchise veteran, having owned multiple franchises and businesses. Using his expertise, he helps others find their American Dream through a very thorough consultation and evaluation process.

It’s the first week of the February dead period, but there is still recruiting news to discuss. Today on the BWI Daily Edition Recruiting Show, Thomas Frank Carr fills in for Ryan Snyder to discuss this week’s topics with insider Sean Fits. They’ll look at Penn State’s growing relationship with Quince Orchard, a traditionally productive school in Maryland that produced Chop Robinson, Keylen Adams’ top four, and the recruiting efforts on the offensive line.

Penn State developing a relationship with Quince Orchard high school?

Penn State football hosted another player from Maryland pipeline school Quince Orchard. The team already boasts top pass rusher Chop Robinson, from the school and is in a strong position with four-star edge rusher Jaylen Harvey. Fitz and T-Frank discuss how programs develop relationships with high schools and how important that is in the recruiting process. T-Frank also got a chance to watch some of Harvey’s junior film and was interested in one quirk of his season.

Next, they dip into the news of the day. Four-star receiver Keylen Adams put Penn State in his top four schools, along with Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Pitt. Fitz discusses what he knows about the situation and where Penn State stands with the 6-1 receiver. They discuss Adams’ importance to the 2024 receiver room, but Fitz also explains how wide-open that position is.

Is the O-line becoming a team strength?

Finally, they discuss Penn State’s recruiting efforts on the offensive line. After two strong cycles, has offensive line coach Phil Trautwein finally turned the corner and made the offensive line a strength of the team?

Fitz and T-Frank discuss just how good those two classes were and what the team will need to do in order to follow that up with another successful cycle in 2024. He explains some general rules he’s learned about offensive linemen in recruiting and lays out which prospects Penn State is honing in on for the following year. With four-star Cooper Cousins already on board, the group is off to a hot start again.
