It’s time to dive into Wednesday’s top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions and college athletics.

Penn State tweets of the day

We start with a look at the current Penn State team. The program updated its 2024 roster last week, and it included receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith. That was the first sign that the senior would be back for a fifth season in State College. The second came Monday, when the deadline for college players to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft came and went without news that the Norfolk, Va., native was off the to pros.

Then, on Tuesday, ‘KLS’ was one of numerous Nittany Lions who took to social media to promote the school’s collective, Happy Valley United, as preparations start in earnest for the 2024 season with the spring semester underway. To date, Lambert-Smith has 116 career receptions for 1,598 yards and 11 touchdowns. He is also the only player in program history with multiple 80-plus yard receptions.

“We Are… back to work,” Lambert-Smith wrote. “Thanks to @HappyValleyUtd for supporting me through Name, Image and Likeness opportunities. Show your support by giving now at http://happyvalleyunited.com.”

Many of Lambert-Smith’s teammates shared similar messages on social media. And, a few freshmen shared their own version, as well.

“Nittany Nation! I’m ready to get to work in Happy Valley,” Class of 2024 signee and early enrollee Ethan Grunkemeyer wrote. “I’m excited to work with @HappyValleyUtd to take advantage of Name, Image and Likeness opportunities. Show your support by giving now at http://happyvalleyunited.com

Quote of the day

“I just like the coaches. The coaches help show me that home environment and I feel good around them. I get that home feeling there. I like how the coaches handle things, how they make it easy to talk to them and that environment just feels good to be in. Me and (defensive line) coach Deion Barnes talk a lot and I like him and coach James Franklin. The fans are loud, I like the environment on gameday and it is great tailgating out there too.”
