Penn State wrestling recruits are on the mat at a pair of tournaments today in two different states. Four future Nittany Lions are at Ironman in Ohio. Two others are at the Penn Manor Holiday Tournament in Pennsylvania. And this is your one-stop shop for live updates as the six push for a podium finish.

12/13/2025 11:26:46 AMThe Ironman medal round starts at 2:30 p.m. ET. Finals are at 5:30 p.m. ET. Penn State will have two recruits in the former and two in the latter. At 144 pounds, 2027 signees Clinton Shepherd and Gavin Mangano are in the third- and seventh-place matches, respectively. The Nittany Lions have two finalists: 2026 signee Jayden James at 165 and 2027 commit Grey Burnett at 126.
Elsewhere, Class of 2027 commit Landon Sidun will wrestle in the Penn Manor Holiday Tournament finals at 121 pounds around 3 p.m. ET. We’ll see if classmate James Whitbred of State College earns the same opportunity at 160 pounds. His semi is still a ways away.

Two Penn State recruits are in the Ironman finals
12/13/2025 10:08:54 AMClass of 2026 signee Jayden James and Class of 2027 commit Grey Burnett are in the finals at Ironman. Burnett, who is perfect so far in this tournament, will take on Iowa commit Paul Kenny in the 126-pound title bout. Then, James will wrestle Melvin Miller in the 165-pound championship match. Miller is the number one seed and committed to Virginia Tech.
The finals start at 5:30 p.m. ET.

12/13/2025 10:07:02 AMThe Penn State commit won his semifinal by technical fall, 18-3, over Liam Kelly of Mount Carmel in a tidy 3:44. He is still awaiting his finals opponent as of this update, but it’s likely to be No. 1 seed Melvin Miller, a Virginia Tech commit.
Shepherd falls to Dekraker
12/13/2025 09:48:29 AMTied 1-1 with under 30 seconds to wrestle, Minnesota commit Tyler Dekraker used a seven-point throw to beat Penn State commit and Indiana native Clinton Shepherd by decision, 8-1, in a 144-pound semifinal.
