The Big Ten has announced its All-Conference defense and specialists teams. We have a full accounting of which Penn State players made the cut below.

Final Penn State Wednesday All-Big Ten honors

Penn State ended up with one unanimous third-team pick on defense: Defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton. Linebacker Amare Campbell was a third-team selection of the media. And, Penn State punter Gabe Nwosu was a third-team selection of the coaches.

As for the honorable mention lists, here they are:

A.J. Harris, Amare Campbell, King Mack, Zakee Wheatley, Zane Durant

Coaches’ honorable mention, special teams:

Nicholas Singleton, Ryan Barker;

Ryan Eckley of Michigan State is the Big Ten punter of the year. Gabe Nwosu of Penn State had a fine year but Eckley was superior. And, Indiana’s Nico Radicic is the conference’s kicker of the year. Ryan Barker had a strong case, but the Hoosier had a nearly perfect year.

No first-team defenders for Penn State. Thought Zakee Wheatley might have had an outside shot. But, no dice. Caleb Downs of OSU is both the Big Ten’s defensive player and defensive back of the year. Teammate Arvell Reese is the linebacker of the year.
