The 2025-2026 Penn State wrestling schedule is out. The Nittany Lions, who are led by longtime head coach Cael Sanderson, will again be chasing history this winter. Besides winning another NCAA team title, they will also try to become the new leader in consecutive dual meet victories. The team’s current run is up to 71. The record is held by Oklahoma State, which won 76 straight. That, of course, means if Penn State wins its first seven dual meets, it will be the new record holder. But, it certainly won’t be a concern of Sanderson and co., at least not publicly.

“We don’t think about that stuff,” Sanderson said last year. “We think about our next match and getting better and just doing what we do. I mean, maybe at some point you do. But that’s not something; we don’t really worry about that stuff. This team’s not worried about anything that happened in previous years, right? They’re just doing what they do and just competing hard, and they wrestle pretty dang good. That’s a really good team we saw tonight. So, proud of them.”

The new season opens on Nov. 14. That’s when Oklahoma comes to the Bryce Jordan Center. It is one of three matches that will be held across campus from Rec Hall. Penn State will also host Nebraska there on Jan. 30 and Ohio State there on Feb. 13.

As for the non-conference slate, besides Oklahoma, the Lions will travel to the Army Black Knight Invite on Nov. 23. They will then be at Drexel Dec. 5, host Lehigh Dec. 7, and travel to Wyoming Dec. 13. After that, Penn State will return to the Collegiate Wrestling Duals in Nashville on Dec. 20. There, the Lions will face Stanford and North Dakota State. Last but not least, the season ends with Princeton visiting Rec Hall on Feb. 20.
