Penn State already picked up one commitment on Friday with the addition of in-state edge rusher Jackson Ford. Now, the Nittany Lions have gone back-to-back to finish out the week, adding three-star offensive tackle Jack Fuchs to the 2026 recruiting class.

A 6-foot-8, 295-pound prospect from Beech High School in Hendersonville, Tenn., Fuchs earned an offer from offensive line coach Phil Trautwein in February, but he also camped at Penn State in June 2024. That gave the staff a good understanding of what he brings athletically. It was his junior season film that then led to the offer.

Fuchs is also the son of Tennessee Titans assistant coach Scott Fuchs. Not only that, but the family has a connection to the Nittany Lion coaching staff, as Fuchs previously coached with offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki at both Buffalo and Kansas.

In fact, it was that connection that led Fuchs and his family to spend four days in State College back in April.

“Coach K’s wife and my mom are best friends,” Fuchs said back in April. “Of course, Coach K and my dad are really good friends, too, so my parents figured if we’re going to go up there, we might as well make it a mini vacation.”

But this commitment isn’t just about his family’s connection to Kotelnicki. Offensive line coach Phil Trautwein also impressed the family throughout his recruitment. The same can be said for head coach James Franklin.

“I think they’re all really good,” Fuchs said. “They’re really committed to their teams and want to make sure their guys succeed and develop. With Coach Traut, he’s had a lot of experience now. Honestly, I saw a lot of similarities between his style and my dad’s style. I really like that.”

As for Franklin, Fuchs added, “I loved that he was around the whole time,” he said. “When we were going through everything, he spent a ton of his time with the players and recruits. He’s not just couped up in his office, which was great.”

Fuchs also took official visits to Kentucky and Indiana before using his final official visit to Penn State last weekend, June 20-22. He ultimately chose the Nittany Lions over Kentucky.

On3 assigned him an 89 overall rating, making him the highest three-star possible. He’s the 40th-ranked offensive tackle and No. 11 in Tennessee.

He’s now the fourth offensive lineman in the 2026 recruiting class, joining Kevin Brown, Roseby Lubintus and Ben Eziuka. Penn State is also in a good position with New Jersey native and four-star prospect Marlen Bright. He’s set to announce his decision next Saturday, July 5.
