Penn State picks game themes for 2022 season; when is the White Out game?

Penn State football has announced its game themes for the 2022 season. When is the White Out game? How about the Stripe Out? And will the Generations of Greatness uniforms return?

We outline all of that information below as the Nittany Lions continue preparing for their opener at Purdue on Sept. 1.

Penn State announces 2022 game themes

Penn State will hold its annual White Out game when Minnesota visits Beaver Stadium on Oct. 22. That game will kick in primetime at 7:30 p.m. in State College. That will be a busy day in town, as it is both Homecoming and the Generations of Greatness game in Happy Valley, as well.

“The Penn State football team will once again turn back the clock for a special “Generations of Greatness” game. The Nittany Lions will don uniforms with designs elements from uniforms past,” a news release said.

As for the Stripe Out game, that will be held when Ohio State treks to town on Oct. 29. A kick time has not been set for that matchup as of Wednesday. However, it is likely to be at Noon on FOX. A student section White Out will also take place against the Buckeyes.

Penn State will hold a ‘107k Family Reunion‘ when Ohio opens up the 2022 home slate on Sept.10. The game will kickoff at Noon and be televised by ABC.

Later in the opening month of the season, Penn State will recognize the 1982 national championship team on its 40th anniversary of winning it all when Central Michigan comes to town on Sept. 24. The same day, the student section ribbon will be yellow to celebrate THON.

On Oct. 1, Northwestern visits for All-University Day.

Military Appreciation Day will be celebrated Nov. 23 when Maryland visits. And, Senior Day is set for Nov. 26 opposite Michigan State.

When do tickets go on sale?

Here is the information from a Penn State Athletics news release:

“Members of the Penn State Nittany Lion Club and football season ticket holders will have the opportunity to participate in an exclusive presale for Penn State football single-game tickets beginning Wednesday, June 8. Nittany Lion Club members are scheduled in NLC point total order between Wednesday, June 8 and Friday, June 10 and will receive an email with their sale information later today (June 1). Nittany Lion Club members can log into the sale at www.GoPSUsports.com/accountmanager beginning on their scheduled date and time. The presale will end on Tuesday, June 14.
 
“The public single-game ticket sale will begin on Thursday, June 16.
 
“Beginning at their assigned date and time, Nittany Lion Club members can also purchase single-game general parking permits (3 permits per account, per game) for all seven home games, subject to availability. Single-game general parking permits can be purchased via Penn State Account Manager www.GoPSUsports.com/accountmanager.”
