Penn State improved to 7-4 Saturday with a 28-0 win over Rutgers
The Nittany Lions started off slow, which was understandable in retrospect, as head coach James Franklin confirmed to the media afterwards that 35 players were impacted by the flu.
Quarterback Sean Clifford was one of those players. He gave it a go in the first quarter, but after starting 2 for 8, Franklin decided to go with freshman Christian Veilleux. He went on to complete 15 of 24 attempts for 235 yards and three touchdowns, while the defense pitched its second shutout of the season.
