The Penn State Nittany Lions Football team faces off against the Nebraska Cornhuskers today at 7 pm for the right to keep its postseason hopes alive. Can they defeat a 7-3 team at home with a Thanksgiving crowd in a surprise primetime game? We’re breaking down all of the factors that go into tonight’s game on the Penn State Football Tailgate Show!

We’re live at 4 pm outside the Bryce Jordan Center ticket office, on the Blue White Illustrated YouTube Channel, or locally on 99.5 The Bus and 103.7 Bigfoot Country Legends. The Tailgate Show is produced in association with Seven Mountains Media.

Penn State vs attrition in 2025

The 2025 regular season has been the polar opposite of what most fans and national media expected from the team this year. Penn State lost its quarterback, star linebacker, and head coach in the succession of a three-game losing streak that extended into six games.

Now, the staff is being siphoned off to former Penn State head coach James Franklin’s new home at Virginia Tech. Can the team rally around itself and fight an emotionally uphill battle? Those are the stakes even before we get to the matchups on the field for the Nittany Lions against Nebraska. We’ll discuss all of that today to start the show.

Keys to the game

Next, we’ll discuss the key matchup today in the game between Penn State and Nebraska. Will the Nittany Lions be able to run the ball? The stats say Nebraska’s rushing defense is poor, but the film says otherwise. We’ll discuss how teams have attacked the Cornhuskers and how their defense operates. There’s a secret buried in the date that shows how this game can swing dramatically depending on what game plan Nebraska brought with it to Happy Valley.

From there, we’ll discuss Ethan Grunkemeyer’s performance last week and how things will have to go differently this week for Penn State to get a win.

Finally, we’ll flip the script and talk about the Penn State defense. Can they find success against freshman quarterback TJ Lateef? The young passer is on the road after a bye week and needs to play well for Nebraska to have a chance. Can Penn State keep him in the pocket and stop his rushing threat? We’ll discuss how dangerous he is and what Penn State can do about it.

Finally, we’ll get you up-to-date with the latest injury report at 5 pm.
