Surprise player in the battle for right guard?

Fans are also curious as to how much transfer guard TJ Shanahan is part of the right guard competition after Penn State head coach James Franklin mentioned him as part of the battle between Cooper Cousins and Anthony Donkoh for that spot to end camp.

“Donkoh, Cousins, and Shanahan. All three of those guys are in the heat of it,” Franklin said.

“We’ve got a pretty good idea that if we were going to play this Saturday, but it’s still close enough that we’re going to continue the competition. Different than quarterback because we’re still rotating all of those guys for equal reps.”
