Penn State football defeated Indiana last weekend in a closer affair than most expected. The teams were tied at 24 in the final four minutes before late-game heroics from the offense and defense sealed the 33-24 win for the Nittany Lions.

Now, the team turns the page to the next opponent, the Maryland Terrapins. Penn State head coach James Franklin wraps up the last game and previews the upcoming game during his weekly press conference. Hear his complete quotes on the Blue White Illustrated YouTube page or here in the embedded video. We bring you Franklin’s comments each week on live replay moments after the end of his press conference.

Today, Franklin talked about the progress of his offense and how his team matches up with Maryland.

Penn State vs. Maryland preview

As always, Franklin starts with a review of the previous game and a preview of the team’s next opponent. As he does each year, Franklin highlights the danger of Terps quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa.

“Guys that we have respect for us is their quarterback, receivers Kaden Prather and Jeshaun Jones,” Franklin said.

He highlighted other players but for Maryland it’s all about who is under center.

“It really runs through the quarterback. He owns every record that the university has.”

Franklin also discussed his team’s need to play with consistency in coverage, which was poor last week. It was a surprise, given how locked-in the defense has been for most of the season.
