The Penn State Nittany Lions football team takes on the Ohio State Buckeyes this Saturday in one of the season’s most anticipated games. Interim head coach Terry Smith spoke to the media on Monday ahead of the game to kick off the week of coverage. Hear his complete press conference on the Blue White Illustrated YouTube Channel, or embedded in the article below.

The Nittany Lions are 3-4, with a four-game losing streak since the team began conference play. Smith stepped in for former head coach James Franklin, who was fired after the team’s third loss of the season. Smith dropped his first game of the year in a primetime clash with Iowa, 25-24. The team is coming off its second and final bye week of the 2025 season.

Terry Smith press conference

Ohio State has an extensive lineage of great wide receivers. Sophomore Jeremiah Smith is one of the best to come through the program and is one of the best receivers in the country this year. Smith outlined how his Penn State DBs need to go about limiting Smith and teammate Carnell Tate.

“He’s just got everything. Big, strong, fast, runs great routes, competes. WE have our hands full. Our job on the back end is to make those guys earn it. We have to limit their explosive plays, keep the ball in front of us, and not allow one-play scores.”
