We’re in the thick of official visit season for Penn State football recruiting. The team hosted its current commitments in the Class of 2026 last weekend, tying up loose ends and bringing the class together for a celebratory weekend. Now, the team will host one of its most important weekends of the summer, with most of its top defensive line targets and several top players at other positions coming to Happy Valley en masse on Friday. We’ll discuss that, break down Joey O’Brien’s final four schools, and recap the past weekend’s camps.

One of Penn State’s top targets in 2026 sets commitment date

La Salle College High School safety Joey O’Brien has set his commitment date and trimmed his list of finalists down to four schools. We’ll give you the latest information on the four-star prospect and what the news could mean for Penn State.

Official visit preview

Of course, the most critical news this week is that Penn State hosts its most star-studded lineup of the official visit season. While they’ve hosted top talent and players critical to this cycle’s success, no weekend has as many as June 6-8. Multiple targets at the top of their positions will visit, including Carter Meadows and Luke Wafle at defensive end, Damari Simeon and Titan Davis at defensive tackle, and Grayson McKeogh at offensive tackle.

We’ll discuss how critical it is for Penn State to land a number of the players visiting this weekend, especially considering this group comprises mostly trench players, which is where the Class of 2026 has its most remaining spots. Reporters Ryan Snyder and Sean Fitz will break down the visitors and we’ll show you highlights of the team’s top targets visiting this weekend.

Wrapping up last weekend’s biggest events

Of course, last weekend was also crucial to the program’s current and future success. Snyder went to the Under Armour camp in Baltimore and will give his report on what he saw and who stood out during the event. We’ll also recap the reactions and news coming out of the team’s last official visit weekend, which consisted of the team’s committed players and a handful of top targets.
