Penn State hosting veteran center transfer prospect

Penn State basketball’s parade of transfer portal visitors continued on Tuesday. A stretch of recent activity that also included Georgetown’s Qudus Wahab last weekend, and North Carolina’s Puff Johnson to begin the week, Mike Rhoades and his staff welcomed another prospect to campus on Tuesday.
Arriving late Monday, Vanderbilt’s Quentin Millora-Brown, a 6-foot-10, 245-pound center, has been on campus all Tuesday.
The visit is another piece of an urgent roster build for the Nittany Lions as they seek to work every angle. Exploring the transfer portal, high school recruiting ranks, and working to keep Penn State’s true freshman class, Rhoades has so far welcomed three transfers while holding onto three members of that five-man Class of 2022.
Scouting Quentin Millora-Brown
Originally a Class of 2018 prospect out of South County HS in Arlington, Va., Millora-Brown has made two previous college basketball stops. And his first involved a commitment to the Rice program that Rhoades vacated just six months prior.
In Houston, Millora-Brown was a fixture with the Owls as a true freshman. He played in all 32 games, starting 28, and finished averaging 7.2 points (including a 60.0 FG percentage), with 5.9 rebounds.

Transferring to Vanderbilt after his debut season, Millora-Brown was initially forced to sit due to transfer rules. However, he returned to become a mainstay with the Commodores through the Covid-impacted 2020-21 season. And ultimately, he shined in relief as a starter in 2021-22. He started in 30 games in place of Liam Robbins. Robbins was sidelined due to injury while Millora-Brown averaged 5.2 points over 24.3 minutes per outing.
Last season, he started 27 of 36 games played, and finished with 3.5 points and 4.3 rebounds over 18.5 minutes. Though less of an offensive presence for the Commodores, Millora-Brown maintained a 48.5 FG percentage from the floor.
All the while, he was excelling as a student at all of his stops along the way. He was academic honor roll in both Conference USA with Rice as well as in the SEC.
Next steps for Penn State basketball
With Millora-Brown ending his visit on Wednesday, the Nittany Lions are not expected to slow down. Other expected visitors to campus this week include two Class of 2023 prospects, detailed here.
