Penn State interim head coach Terry Smith Wednesday press conference: Nebraska

The Penn State Nittany Lions football team gears up for its final home game of the regular season on Saturday. The Nebraska Cornhuskers travel to Happy Valley to face the Nittany Lions at 7 p.m. for Senior Day. Interim head coach Terry Smith spoke to reporters after the team’s practice on Wednesday to recap the team’s progress through the week. Penn State will honor roughly 30 seniors before Saturday’s game. The season finale will be on the road at Rutgers with a 3:30 kickoff time the following Saturday.

Smith spoke about the team’s progress this week. However, there was also a big shakeup in the Lasch Building with six staffers leaving Penn State this week to join James Franklin at Virginia Tech.

“Yeah, we just got to restructure, you know, make sure that those job responsibilities are being taken care of. We have a great staff here. We have a lot of people that take great pride in, you know, picking up the slack where things are void. This is no different than injuries on the field. It’s next, next person up. The job has to be done, so we’ll adjust. We’ll keep it moving. Our feet are on the ground, and we’re prepared to go beat Nebraska,” he said.
