Penn State Lettermen set for 'Happy Alley Bowl-A-Thon' to support local charities

The Nittany Lions are taking their act to the hardwood. Specifically, the Penn State Football Lettermen are set to support two local charities with their fourth annual, ‘2025 Happy Alley Lettermen’s Bowl-A-Thon.’
And fans can attend, or participate, to help the cause.
Hosted by special guest Jordan Hill, the event will take place on Saturday, June 21 at Northland Bowl in State College, Pa. The three-hour outing will run from 4-7 p.m., with Penn State coaches, Lettermen, and current players due to take part while raising money for The Jordan Hill Foundation and The Centre Foundation.
Established by former NFL defensive tackle and Penn State great Jordan Hill, the Jordan Hill Foundation promotes healthy lifestyles for young people in the fight against diabetes and kidney disease. “At the JHF, our major focus is raising funds to aid and develop programs to keep our kids active physically, socially and intellectually. The Jordan Hill Foundation also strives to raise awareness for the prevention of diabetes and advancing research of kidney disease.”
The Centre Foundation, meanwhile, seeks to raise support for a multitude of local charitable organizations to deliver a direct impact on the community. Its flagship annual event runs every spring over 36 hours, known as Centre Gives.

Penn State football gives back
Support for the local community has been a focal point of the Penn State football program for years. Consistently looking to lend a hand through involvement in THON, annual trips to the Penn State Health Children’s Hospital in Hershey, and more, Nittany Lion head coach James Franklin has maintained a push for current and former players to be engaged in the community.
“I think our guys understand. I think we try to do a ton of stuff in the community, both here locally, the Hershey hospital trip, that’s become a tradition that we do every single year,” Franklin said last season. “It’s having people out to practice and spending some time with them. It’s acts of kindness in the community that don’t ever get reported. And that’s really kind of everybody in the program.
“We’re not perfect, but we work very hard at it and for the most part, I think the guys have done a really good job of understanding that this thing is much greater than just what happens on the scoreboard.”
