Penn State has added a four-star receiver to its Class of 2026. Richmond, Va., senior-to-be Davion Brown picked the Nittany Lions on Monday night. He announced the news on social media. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound receiver was in State College for an unofficial visit during the weekend of the Blue-White game. He picked the Lions over the likes of Duke, Georgia, Michigan, and Virginia Tech.

“Georgia, Penn State and Virginia Tech are up there,” Brown told On3’s Chad Simmons in March. “Penn State has a system I can see myself being a offensive weapon in and being able to make an impact in different spots on the field. The coaching staff are good people who wants the best for you there.

Brown is the program’s 17th Class of 2026 commitment. He is the No. 220 overall player in the On3 Industry Rankings, the No. 34 receiver, and No. 6 player in Virginia. As a junior, he caught 42 receptions for 946 yards and 10 touchdowns. He totaled 1,200 all purpose yards.

When announcing his top five in February, Brown discussed both Penn State and what he was looking for in his eventual choice.

“I am looking at the coaching and development part,” Brown said. “The culture of the school is important too. How I feel on campus and around the people will be key too because I want to stay and be happy all four years.”

He reiterated all of that, and more, in a recent interview with On3’s EJ Holland.

“It’s all about that development piece and how I’m going to fit into the system,” Brown said. “Basically, just a coach who wants to develop me and wants me for me. I want to stay there all four years and not transfer out, so I’m looking for a home.”

As for why the Lions, a long standing relationship put Penn State in good position early. It eventually sealed the deal, ending with his Monday commitment.

“I have been rocking with Penn State for a while,” Brown told On3 in February. “Since my freshman year, they have been recruiting me. I feel I can go there and change the receiver room. I talk to coach James Franklin a lot. We have a really good relationship and I like coach Marques Hagans too.”
