The Penn State wrestling show from Blue-White Illustrated is back following a brief summer hiatus as five Nittany Lions prepare to compete at the U20 World Championships, which start Sunday in Bulgaria.

Host Thomas Frank Carr and reporter Greg Pickel start this week’s episode with a brief recap of what has taken place since our last episode. Class of 2026 commit Jayden James kicked off the program’s offseason world tour by winning the U17 gold medal at 71 kilograms (156.5 pounds) earlier this month. The reigning New Jersey 150-pound state champ is now ready to embark on his senior season.

Next up is U20s, which the show moves on to next. Penn State will occupy five of the 10 Team USA spots at the event. The list of competitors includes incoming freshmen Marcus Blaze (61 kilograms/134.4 pounds), PJ Duke (70 kilograms/154.3 pounds), and William Henckel (79 kilograms/174.1 pounds) in addition to redshirt freshmen Connor and Cole Mirasola. They compete at 92 and 125 kilograms (202.8 and 275.5 pounds), respectively. Who could home with gold, when will each be on the mat, and how many medals could the group win over all? Carr and Pickel discuss and look at the U.S. team overall, which features plenty of fire power.

“Penn State sports the most athletes on the roster with five—incoming freshmen Blaze, Duke and Henckel, plus the redshirt freshmen Mirasola twins,” USA Wrestling writes. “Two have already earned NCAA All-America status—Stanich at Lehigh and McEnelly at Minnesota. Rademacher is a NCAA qualifier for Oregon State. Knox is heading to Cornell and Lockett to Oklahoma State this fall.”
